Alan Scott Davis is the co-founder and CEO of Davis de Dios Media, a media production company based in Southern Arizona. Since August 2018, Alan has guided the company’s growth and success. Among the company’s prestigious clients are as Canon USA, the National Science Foundation, and NASCAR. Under his leadership, Davis de Dios Media has produced impactful content for educational institutions including the University of Arizona, University of Pennsylvania, and Vanderbilt University. Alan has also led many notable projects like the hour-long documentary “Growing Tradition,” which highlights the Tucson Botanical Gardens’ pandemic recovery efforts.

As a professional, Alan has given talks on cinematography, video production, and visual storytelling. Alan has mentored students and young professionals for different institutions, including the University of Arizona, B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, and others.

Alan’s expertise in cinematography and visual storytelling is built on a strong foundation of hands-on experience. Before co-founding Davis de Dios Media, he worked as an independent contractor in Southern Arizona, where he contributed to significant projects like “The Modern Zoo,” “Mt. Antero Treasures,” and Canon USA’s “Brucie Interrupted.” His early career at the University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences involved creating award-winning science communication videos, including the Emmy-winning documentaries “Beyond the Mirage” and “Earthlight,” and several news magazine pieces for the local PBS affiliate.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism with a focus on science journalism from the University of Arizona. His professional skills encompass cinematography, project management, storytelling, and drone videography. He has also earned certifications in remotepilot for Unmanned Aircraft Systems and participated in advanced workshops with B&H and Canon.

Recognized for his contributions to visual storytelling and science communication, Alan has received two Rocky Mountain Emmys for Best Topical Documentary. His commitment to high-quality media production and innovative storytelling continues to drive Davis de Dios Media’s success and influence across various sectors.

In 2024, Alan was honored as a member of Tucson’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2024, as presented by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Snell & Wilmer, Tucson Young Professionals, and the Arizona Daily Star. Alan was honored among a inspiring group of educators, medical professionals, and many other industry leaders.
